Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Chicago’ , has classic ivy foliage, but thanks to its more flexible branches, this hanging variety still produces a beautiful effect.
The leaves are formed of 3 lobes in principle, but sometimes two additional small basal lobes are seen. The central lobe is prominent. The sinuses are shallow. The blade is medium to light green.
This vigorous ivy will form a beautiful uniform cover, whether as ground cover or on walls. But it will be the most beautiful indoors.
History
This cultivar, of unknown origin, probably originated in the United States in the early 1960s.
