Ornamental ivy, Hedera ‘Algerian Bellecour’ ®, is an ivy with very large leaves, reaching 15 cm in diameter, composed of 3 more or less rounded lobes. The leaf blade is a matte dark green color. The veins are clearly visible.
It is an ivy with vigorous and very rapid growth. Its stems are well branched. The petioles are very long and reddish in color.
‘Algerian Bellecour’ ivy is the ideal ivy for large areas as ground cover. If you want an ivy that does not climb, this is the variety to choose.
History
This cultivar was discovered in 1990 growing as a ground cover on Place Bellecour in Lyon, France.
