Description
Cyprus ivy – Hedera cypria ‘Coon Hollow’
In a nutshell
The Cyprus ivy, Hedera cypria ‘Coon Hollow’, is a very interesting but rare ivy.
It forms small leaves of a fairly dark greenish blue, furrowed by silvery veins of the most beautiful effect. The leaves are composed of 3 lobes, the lateral lobes being perpendicular to the central lobe which is much longer. They measure 2.5 cm long by 0.6 to 1.3 cm wide. The cold accentuates the colors.
This pretty ivy works wonders in pots or planters, or as ground cover.
History
This cultivar is named after an ivy nursery in the United States: Coon Hollow Ivies. It was discovered by the owner of this nursery, Mr Cliff Coon, following the planting of Hedera cypria.
