Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Bettina’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Bettina’ , is one of the most graceful white-margined ivy plants available.
The leaves are broad and recurved, often asymmetrical, slightly wavy on the edges. They are composed of 3 to 5 lobes, with a central lobe longer than the lateral lobes. The blade is matt pale green, finely edged with white.
It is a very branched ivy, which makes an outstanding ground cover. Its modest shoots of about 20 to 40 cm per year make it more suitable for small spaces. It can also be used as a climber in alkaline soils.
History
