Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Big Deal’

The ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Big Deal’ , is a variety with an atypical leaf reminiscent of that of Geranium. It was originally called “ivy geranium”.
The leaf is almost round, without lobes, recurved and slightly wavy. The veins are prominent and arranged in a fan shape. The blade is light green to dark green. The base of the leaf is cordate.
It is a compact, well-branched plant with short stems that you can use to decorate small spaces in the garden, or as a houseplant.
History
This cultivar was discovered by Keith Williams, a florist in Springfield, Ohio, USA around 1955.
