Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Cavendishii Semi Arborescent’
In a nutshell
The ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Cavendishii Semi Arborescent’ , has thick, yellow-variegated foliage on fairly stiff stems.
The leaves are triangular to trilobed. The sinuses are shallow. The base of the leaves is cordate to truncate. The blade is green striped with gray and margined more or less widely with creamy yellow. The margin becomes whiter with age. Being an ivy in the semi-arborescent stage, the variety produces flowers and fruits on certain shoots.
It is an ivy branched at the top, but little branched at the base. The internodes are very short. It is rather climbing and very resistant in hot conditions. It grows very slowly, but it forms a beautiful column on a wall.
