Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Chester’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Chester’ , is a wonderful potted plant.
The leaves are somewhat triangular, or trilobed, with rounded apices. The base of the leaves is heart-shaped. The blade is dark green and gray-green in the center, edged with creamy white. With age, the leaves leave the green tones to slide towards a broader creamy white. The variegation is better revealed in the shade. The margins can be tinged with red in cold weather.
It is a medium branchy plant, with long internodes. In addition to its use in pots, it is also a medium vigorous climber.
