All your questions about ivy
How to propagate ivy by division?
Ivy propagation by division is not widely practised, as there are many other, more effective ways to propagate ivy.
However, if a clump of ivy has become too large for its pot or location, it’s worth considering dividing it.
To do this, dig up the mother plant and clear away the plant’s collar so that you can identify the various possible sections. Separate each section, making sure they all have stems, leaves and roots. If cutting is necessary, make sure you do it as cleanly as possible, without damaging the plants.
Immediately replant these plant sections in pots or in the ground and water thoroughly. Keep watering until each new plant is well established.
