Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Denmark’, is a fast-growing, compact variegated ivy.
The leaves are medium green to grey-green, edged with creamy white. They are composed of 3 to 5 lobes with a fairly blunt profile. The variegation reduces in winter and the plant becomes greener.
This is an ivy that looks like ‘Silver King’, but the leaves of ‘Denmark’ are wider and more parchment-like. It forms fairly thick mats. It is an interesting plant as a houseplant.
History
This cultivar was introduced from Denmark in the 1950s.
