Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Golden Ingot’
In a nutshell
The ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Golden Ingot’, is a very beautiful variety, rightly rewarded.
The leaves are composed of 3 to 5 shallow lobes. The base of the leaf is heart-shaped. The blade is medium green marbled with grey-green, light yellow and cream. The variegation covers a very uneven surface, which can range from 20 to 70%, with asymmetry on the leaf.
It is a rather ground cover variety with medium-sized leaves and shoots, which will brighten up small sunny corners of the garden.
This ivy won the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
This variety was elected “Ivy of the Year” by the American Ivy Society in 2003.
