The ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Goldfinch’, is a magnificent, golden variety with small leaves.
The leaf is composed of 3 lobes most often, sometimes 5. The central lobe is longer than the lateral lobes. The blade is chartreuse green to yellow, especially in the sun. It becomes pale green in more shaded situations.
This is a perfect ivy for ground cover on small surfaces, pots and rockeries.
History
This cultivar results from a seeding of ‘Needlepoint’ by Cliff Coon (Coon Hollow Ivies), California, in 1994.
