Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Paper Doll’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Paper Doll’, is an ivy that we like for its asymmetrical foliage that looks grey from a distance. Not very branchy, very vigorous, it produces annual shoots 1 m long.
The foliage has the particularity of not having precise shapes, it gives the impression of being very thin like cigarette paper. The leaves are unlobed or composed of 3 barely distinct lobes. The blade is speckled with different shades of grey and edged with white.
It can be used as a climber or as ground cover. However, reserve spaces protected from the great winter cold for it.
History
This cultivar was discovered by Leo Swicegood, registered in 1977. It is a mutation of ‘Glacier‘.
