Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Perle’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Perle’, has leaves that are either unlobed or trilobed, almost rounded, recurved on the edges and sometimes misshapen.
The leaf blade, green or grey-green in the centre, is more or less edged with cream and/or white.
This cultivar produces both erect and thickened stems and long creeping shoots. It is a good ground cover for small areas, excellent in pots or window boxes.
History
This cultivar was selected by Brother Ingobert Heieck, of Neuburg Monastery, Germany, in 1980. It is a mutation of ‘Harald’.
