Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Smithii’, is a variety close to ‘Baccifer’ in its shapes and shoots.
Only the juvenile foliage is different, being light green to yellow, with a red edge in spring on cold nights. The leaf is composed of 5 wavy and curved lobes. It has a fairly geometric appearance.
It is a good ground cover that is also perfectly suitable in pots.
History
This cultivar was described by Nannenga-Bremekamp in 1970.
