Description
Ornemental ivy – Hedera helix ‘Spectre’
In a nutshell
Ornamental ivy, Hedera helix ‘Spectre’, is a ground cover with foliage composed of 3 to 5 lobes with a tapered, slightly recurved central lobe.
New shoots have green leaves with yellow spots, more pronounced in cool conditions and fading as the leaves develop. They are carried by very long green petioles.
This is a non-climbing ivy to be installed in the sun or partial shade.
History
This cultivar is probably a mutation of ‘Triton’. It was introduced into the catalogue of the Fibrex nursery, UK, in 1979.
