Irish ivy – Hedera hibernica ‘Big Shot’

Irish ivy, Hedera hibernica ‘Big Shot’ , is a particularly vigorous ivy, comparable to Colchis ivy.
The leaf is heart-shaped, but can also have an oval shape. Some have in addition small asymmetrical lateral legs, but most often the leaf is not lobed forming a convex cup. The blade is shiny dark green. It reddens in the sun and it can turn brown in cold situations in winter.
It is a powerful and very rustic ivy, very useful for covering large areas with its large leaves and vigorous growth.
